ABOUT THE DRESS
Insanely beautiful hand-embroidered Hermione de Paula wedding dress in floral white. This is the ultimate in bridal cool. Each Hermione de Paula dress is a one off-piece of art, created with the most exquisite detail.
The bodice of the dress is in floral white tulle with hand-embroidered wild rose motif: The lower part of the dress is in 80gsm stretch cream silk georgette with a tulle over layer.
The dress has a slight high neck with three tulle-covered buttons on the reverse and three quarter length sleeves, also with incredible beading and embroidery. The reverse of the dress has a 'key-hole' style back and a series of tulle-covered buttons from the lower back downwards. The eyelets of the first two buttons are not attached but this can be easily fixed.
Please see the two sketches for the overall style of the dress but note that the sketches do not include the high neck.
DETAILS ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Hermione graduated from Central St Martins after gaining experience at Dior Couture, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. She has dressed stars including Florence Welch, Beyoncé and Kiera Knightly.
She launched her bridal studio in 2015 and Hermione's work has always embodied a world where the exotic meets the traditional as romantic flights embolden classic English florals to create something personal yet immutable. It is this entanglement of perspective which inspires her creatively, embedding intricate imagery in the smallest details to disguise a personalised moment in something timeless. More art than fashion Hermione's hand-crafted pieces challenge you to expect the unexpected so you have the courage embrace it.
MEASUREMENTS
For reference, I am 5.1 and a size 8. However as tulle stretches and due to the shape of the dress this would fit sizes between 6 – 10.
Bodice: Length from neck to waist: 36 cm
Sleeves: Length from underarm to cuff: 40 cm
Waist: 24-25 inches
Front: Length of the dress from the waist to the floor: 109 cm
Back: Length of the dress from the waist to the floor: 134 cm
There is small personalised embroidery on the reverse, near the lower back of the dress but this can be removed or altered to suit.
Please note: There is staining to the silk lining of the dress on the reverse – up to 17 cm from the hem upwards. However, as the reverse is longer than the front of the dress, the hem can easily be taken up.
